Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be an integral part of the inclusive classroom, working closely with primary age children who have special educational needs. Your role will involve providing one-to-one support, assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials to meet individual needs. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with teachers, parents/carers and others to create a holistic and enriching learning experience for every student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students with special educational needs, fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist teachers in implementing EHCPs and adapting teaching materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents/carers and outside agencies to ensure the overall well-being and progress of each student.
  • Foster positive social interactions and promote independent learning skills among students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to assessment and reporting processes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational setting.
