Job Overview: We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Bedford. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience of students by providing support to individuals or small groups. Your responsibilities will include assisting with classroom activities, promoting inclusivity, and working closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Support: Provide individualized or small-group support to students, assisting with learning activities and reinforcing educational objectives.
  2. Inclusive Practices: Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement strategies that promote inclusivity and accommodate diverse learning needs.
  3. Behavioral Support: Assist in managing and addressing behavioral challenges, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment.
  4. Communication: Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to student support.
  5. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of student progress, noting achievements and areas requiring additional support.
  6. Adaptability: Be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of students, adjusting support strategies as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working as a Learning Support Assistant in the UK education system.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Understanding of inclusive practices and a commitment to promoting diversity in the classroom.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students.
