Job Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating an inclusive learning environment, providing tailored support to students with diverse educational needs. This role demands a compassionate individual who is adept at encouraging and enabling students to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Student Support: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, assisting with their educational and social development both in and outside the classroom.
- Learning Materials Preparation: Assist in preparing learning materials that cater to students' individual needs.
- Behavior Management: Implement effective strategies to manage behaviors and ensure a constructive learning environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and the special educational needs coordinator (SENCO) to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support students' learning goals.
- Monitoring Progress: Track and report students' progress to teachers and parents, adapting strategies as necessary to meet individual needs.
- Inclusive Learning: Promote inclusivity and empathy among students, ensuring all learners feel valued and supported.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months experience in the UK education sector, preferably with experience supporting students with additional needs.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications is highly desirable but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting students' educational journey.
- Flexibility and creativity in approach to teaching and learning support.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).
