Job Role:

As a Maths Teacher in our SEMH provision, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs. You will work closely with a diverse group of students, adapting your teaching methods to meet their individual learning styles and requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Maths lessons that align with the national curriculum.
  • Differentiating instruction to cater to the diverse needs and abilities of our students.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student well-being and behavior management.
  • Collaborating with the wider school team, including support staff and therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Tracking and assessing student progress, providing feedback, and implementing strategies to address any barriers to learning.
  • Supporting students with their emotional and social needs, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maths curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Resilience, patience, and a positive attitude towards challenging behaviors.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
