This Ofsted Good school is a very popular and very oversubscribed school on a beautiful site in the village area of the town, close to local and national rail, bus and road links to London. (Hemel Hempstead train station is a 15 minute walk from the school)

They have expanded our school, with 217 students in each year group and over 250 students in the Sixth Form. Our facilities are excellent with world-class sporting facilities, a brand-new music, languages and science centre and plans for further improvements across the site. In September 2025 we will open a brand-new school building.

Thie school is seeking a talented and effective Head of Modern Foreign Languages to join their successful Modern Foreign Languages team. French and German are long established within the curriculum offer and Spanish was introduced in Year 7 in 2021, meaning that the faculty will be teaching 3 languages at GCSE for the first time in 2024/25. They are proud to have thriving GCSE and A level cohorts and to achieve increasingly excellent results, both in terms of attainment and progress.

The Head of MFL will:

  • Be able to teach across the full range of age and abilities
  • Act as a role model in leading subject staff in their own high quality teaching
  • Set expectations and targets for staff and students in relation to standards of achievement and the quality of teaching
  • Engage all subject staff in the creation, consistent implementation and improvement of schemes of work which encapsulate key school learning strategies
  • Lead curriculum development to ensure the delivery of an appropriate, comprehensive, high-quality and cost-effective curriculum programme
  • Review teaching and learning, monitoring the progress of all students including those requiring additional support or challenge to ensure students are engaged in their learning and achieve success.
