Occupational Therapist Needed - ASAP Start

We are seeking a passionate professional with a focus on sensory integration, and prior experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Position: Occupational Therapist Location: Winslow, UK Start Date: ASAP Contract: Permanent

About the Role: Embark on a fulfilling journey as an Occupational Therapist. Contribute to the development of a supportive sensory and physical environment, fostering holistic growth for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) standards
  • Work autonomously with a complex caseload
  • Deliver holistic interventions and assess/prescribe equipment
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and support to staff, parents, and partners
  • Build positive relationships with parents and contribute to EHCP meetings
  • Contribute to the school's integrated model of practice
  • Produce termly impact reports for Governors

Pupil Related Activities:

  • Participate in pre-admission assessments
  • Support the delivery of the school's integrated model of practice
  • Autonomous work within the classroom
  • Seek second opinions and make referrals when necessary
  • Contribute to outreach and extended service delivery

Occupational Therapy Department:

  • Work with volunteers and assistants
  • Contribute to curriculum development
  • Develop or maintain a special interest
  • Access support from designated colleagues

School Related Activities:

  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective joint working practices
  • Assist with hosting visitors
  • Contribute to the whole school development plan
  • Mentor colleagues from other professional groups

Research and Development:

  • Be a reflective practitioner
  • Participate in research and development in relevant areas
  • Manage occupational therapy resources within the school

Supervision and Personal Development:

  • Uphold professional and clinical standards
  • Maintain links with NHS colleagues and specialist groups
  • Influence policy and development locally and nationally

Duties on the School:

  • Facilitate a formal process of professional support and learning
  • Assume responsibility for personal practice

Reporting to: Head of Therapy
