Key Responsibilities:
- Provide vital support to the school's SEN team in enhancing the overall well-being and academic progress of students with Special Educational Needs.
- Build strong rapport and trust with students, understanding their individual requirements and tailoring support accordingly.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop personalized strategies for students' academic and social growth.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
- Organize and participate in activities that promote sensory, social, and emotional development among students with SEN.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress, and challenges, while ensuring confidentiality and sensitivity at all times.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with students with Special Educational Needs, coupled with a patient and compassionate approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Previous experience in an SEN or pastoral support role is highly advantageous.
- An understanding of various disabilities, learning challenges, and strategies for individualized support.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, crucial for managing records and supporting individual student plans.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for record-keeping and communication.
