The highly successful, thriving and popular Science department is seeking a new Science teacher (with a preferred Chemistry specialism) to join us on a full-time permanent basis; we would like this position to start September 2023 although we would welcome a sooner start date. The Science department runs smoothly and our students achieve well across Key Stages 3 to 5. Our core purpose is to fully engage all our students and ignite their curiosity and determination so they can achieve their full potential. The Science department has 11 laboratories at the main Tunbridge Wells campus and six further laboratories at the Sevenoaks campus. All are fully equipped for high-quality teaching and learning and one laboratory is specialised for teaching A Level Chemistry. The Science department is supported by a team of four technicians. At GCSE we teach the AQA syllabus with all students studying separate Science GCSEs; at A Level students study OCR Chemistry A. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the Science curriculum and how this can be taught in an inspiring way to maximise student engagement and success. They will be able to provide effective support to the Science department and steer areas of common interest and strategy across the department in order to enhance the quality of learning and achievement.
