Second in Charge of Science

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspirational Secondary School Teacher of Science for a Second in Charge role, with specific KS4 Coordinator responsibilities. This is a full-time, permanent position starting as soon as possible for a well-known Secondary School in Enfield
The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader who will assist with the operational and strategic management of Science, as well as teaching to a high standard across the age range and ability of pupils in the school. The role includes:
-Ensuring all students achieve their potential and exceed expected targets.
-Leading the science curriculum, monitoring standards and producing action plans.
-Overseeing, developing and delivering new initiatives.
-Organising and monitoring external accreditation for science-based activities and schemes of work.
-Fostering the professional development of teachers, leading the planning and teaching of all KS4 science qualifications.
-Ensuring outstanding teaching, behaviour, learning and assessment strategies are applied across all departments.
-Advising and leading on high quality, effective use of assessment strategies.
-Promoting and actively encouraging wider participation in science outside of the classroom.
The role also carries a TLR and other remuneration in line with the candidate's experience.
Applicants should have QTS (or equivalent), extensive classroom experience of Science at Secondary School level, strong organisation and communication skills and the drive to help deliver results.
