Dunbar Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant to join a reputable Secondary School in Milton Keynes. Role Overview:

As a Pastoral Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students, promoting their welfare and fostering a positive learning environment. You will work closely with the pastoral team and other school staff to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-on-one support and mentoring to students facing personal or academic difficulties.
  • Assisting in the implementation of pastoral support plans and interventions.
  • Monitoring student behavior and attendance, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure the holistic well-being of students.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of pastoral programs and initiatives aimed at promoting student welfare and personal development.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student welfare and interventions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months of UK education-based experience.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (desirable).
  • Valid safeguarding certification (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students and the school environment.

Contract Type:

Temporary to Permanent
