Job Description:

Dunbar Education is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our team at a reputable Secondary School in Biggleswade. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being among students while fostering a love for sports and an active lifestyle.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Develop and deliver comprehensive PE lessons that cater to a diverse range of students, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.

  2. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the PE curriculum, aligning with national standards and educational objectives.

  3. Skill Development: Provide opportunities for students to develop their physical skills, including but not limited to team sports, individual activities, and fitness training.

  4. Assessment and Feedback: Assess student performance effectively, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and progress in physical education.

  5. Extracurricular Activities: Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and events to encourage student participation and foster a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.

  6. Health Promotion: Educate students about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle, including nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being.

  7. Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting respect and discipline among students.

  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support the holistic development of students and contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
  3. Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in a UK educational setting, preferably at the secondary level.
  4. Strong knowledge of national curriculum standards and guidelines for physical education.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
  6. Passion for promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and well-being among young people.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to the school community.
  8. Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo the necessary checks.
