Job Description:
Dunbar Education is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to join our team at a reputable Secondary School in Biggleswade. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical fitness and well-being among students while fostering a love for sports and an active lifestyle.
Responsibilities:
Plan and Deliver Engaging Lessons: Develop and deliver comprehensive PE lessons that cater to a diverse range of students, ensuring inclusivity and engagement.
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and enhancement of the PE curriculum, aligning with national standards and educational objectives.
Skill Development: Provide opportunities for students to develop their physical skills, including but not limited to team sports, individual activities, and fitness training.
Assessment and Feedback: Assess student performance effectively, providing constructive feedback to support their growth and progress in physical education.
Extracurricular Activities: Organize and oversee extracurricular sports activities, clubs, and events to encourage student participation and foster a sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Health Promotion: Educate students about the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle, including nutrition, fitness, and overall well-being.
Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment by implementing effective behavior management strategies and promoting respect and discipline among students.
Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external stakeholders to support the holistic development of students and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in a UK educational setting, preferably at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of national curriculum standards and guidelines for physical education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students effectively.
- Passion for promoting physical fitness, sportsmanship, and well-being among young people.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to the school community.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo the necessary checks.
