Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team at a reputable Secondary School in Reading, Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the National Curriculum, ensuring differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported in their academic journey.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance student understanding and foster a love for science.
  4. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning goals.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, share best practices, and contribute to the overall improvement of the science department.
  6. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and behavior, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  7. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Science or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in a UK educational setting, preferably within a secondary school environment.
  3. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  5. Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school community.
  7. Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and satisfactory references.
