Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team at a reputable Secondary School in Reading, Berkshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring science lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons in line with the National Curriculum, ensuring differentiation to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated and supported in their academic journey.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance student understanding and foster a love for science.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work, share best practices, and contribute to the overall improvement of the science department.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and behavior, adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to provide regular updates on student progress and address any concerns or issues in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in a UK educational setting, preferably within a secondary school environment.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to participate in relevant training and CPD opportunities.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the wider life of the school community.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and satisfactory references.
