1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for Autism

Location: High Wycombe
Salary: Competitive/According to Experience
Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only

About Us: A primary school based in High Wycombe is a vibrant and inclusive primary school committed to providing an exceptional education for all the pupils. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the school team, supporting a child with autism on a 1:1 basis.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a child with autism, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching methods to meet the child's needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Encourage social interaction and support the development of communication and social skills.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the child's safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
