SEN Assistant with ADHD Experience

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN (Special Educational Needs) Assistant with a background in working with children or individuals with ADHD. This role is based in Milton Keynes and offers a temporary-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with ADHD.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with ADHD to facilitate their learning and development.
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a conducive learning environment.
  • Assist with behavior management strategies for students with ADHD.
  • Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff to provide holistic support.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and report to relevant parties.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with ADHD.
  • A valid DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and empathy when working with students with additional needs.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
