As a SEN Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom environment. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to students with SEN in a classroom setting under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and activities to ensure continuity of learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with a range of learning needs.
- Promote positive behavior and engagement, encouraging students to participate and achieve their academic goals.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure the individual needs of students are met effectively.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and maintaining accurate records.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and engage with students.
- Confidence in managing challenging behavior and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in various school settings.
- A passion for education and a genuine desire to support students with SEN.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education or SEN are desirable.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
