SEN English Teacher

Are you an experienced and passionate English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with challenging behavior? We are currently seeking a dedicated SEN English Teacher to join our dynamic team in a Challenging Behavior Setting in Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with challenging behavior.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes personal growth and academic achievement.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCo and other professionals.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to support students with diverse learning needs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and behavior management strategies.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including parents/guardians, to ensure effective communication and a holistic approach to student development.
  • Provide guidance and support to teaching assistants and other staff members.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, specializing in English.
  • Proven experience teaching English to students with special educational needs, particularly challenging behavior.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK national curriculum and differentiating instruction to meet individual learning needs.
  • Excellent behavior management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Passion for working with students with challenging behavior and a commitment to their personal and academic growth.
  • Patience, resilience, and adaptability in dealing with complex and challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the overall development of the school.
