Job Advert: SEN HLTA (Special Educational Needs Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This role is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting the educational and personal development of students with special needs.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 6 months experience working within a SEN setting.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A*-C or equivalent).
- A valid DBS certificate.
- A current Safeguarding Certificate.
Responsibilities: As a SEN HLTA, you will play a crucial role in the daily support and education of our students. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting Learning: Assisting in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of educational programmes tailored to individual student needs.
- Classroom Management: Supervising classes and small groups in the absence of the teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment as well as being able to cover a lesson.
- Individual Support: Providing one-on-one support to students with specific needs, helping them to achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour, and providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
- Resource Development: Assisting in the creation and preparation of learning materials and resources.
- Behavioural Support: Implementing strategies to manage and support positive behaviour among students.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Safeguarding and Welfare: Promote and ensure the safeguarding of all students, adhering to school policies and procedures.
Professional Development: Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEN education.
