SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Job Description: We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience in supporting students with Special Educational Needs, specifically Complex Needs. The successful candidate will be placed in a school setting within Corby, Northamptonshire, working full-time during term time.

Key Requirements:

  • DBS on Update Service: Candidates must possess a valid DBS check on the Update Service. This ensures a swift and efficient onboarding process.

  • SEN Experience: The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in working with students with Special Educational Needs, particularly in the area of Complex Needs.

  • Full-Time Availability: This is a full-time position, and candidates should be available to work during term time.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group support to students with Complex Needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for students with diverse needs.

Additional Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of specialised curriculum materials tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support the teacher in assessing and recording progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date student records.
  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to the student's education.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in supporting students with SEN.
