SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job Overview: We are currently seeking a committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team and work within educational settings in Luton. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing support to students with additional needs, fostering an inclusive learning environment, and assisting teachers in delivering effective lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Support: Provide individual or group support to students with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  2. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  3. Classroom Assistance: Assist teachers in managing classroom behavior, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
  4. Resource Preparation: Prepare and organize learning materials and resources in collaboration with teaching staff.
  5. Monitoring Progress: Keep records of students' progress and contribute to the assessment process, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  6. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and school administrators to ensure a collaborative and supportive approach.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in the UK education system.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with additional needs (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, SEND experience).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the development of all students.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs.
