We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Maths Teacher to join our team in a challenging behaviour setting. As an SEN Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students with special educational needs who exhibit challenging behavior. Your role will involve delivering engaging and differentiated mathematics lessons, implementing individualized learning plans, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective and engaging mathematics lessons to students with special educational needs, taking into account their individual learning needs and abilities.
- Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and address challenging behaviors.
- Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other relevant staff members.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback and assessments to ensure their academic and personal development.
- Manage challenging behaviors in a supportive and empathetic manner, using appropriate behavior management strategies and interventions.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external professionals to ensure effective communication and coordinated support for students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior incidents.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school-related activities as required.
Requirements:
- Certification in Mathematics or Special Education.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with challenging behaviors.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the mathematics curriculum and ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.
- Excellent behavior management skills and the ability to establish a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal development of students with special educational needs.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school.
