Looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Dunbar Education is seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Walsall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a Special Needs Setting.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive environment that promotes the social and emotional development of all students.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and behavior management strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic well-being of students.


  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH, ADHD, and ASD is essential.
  • A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and equality in education.
