As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized education and support to students with a range of learning disabilities and needs. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with special educational needs
- Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students during class time and other activities
- Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on their achievements and areas for improvement
- Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and stay updated on best practices in SEN education
Requirements:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Specialization or experience in teaching students with special educational needs is essential
- Excellent knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and the ability to apply them effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
