SEN Teacher

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teacher to join our team at a reputable school in Milton Keynes. As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized education and support to students with a range of learning disabilities and needs. This is a rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with special educational needs
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching methods as necessary
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Provide one-on-one support and assistance to students during class time and other activities
  • Utilize a variety of teaching techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on their achievements and areas for improvement
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and stay updated on best practices in SEN education

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Specialization or experience in teaching students with special educational needs is essential
  • Excellent knowledge of SEN teaching strategies and the ability to apply them effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Organizational skills to effectively plan lessons and manage students' individual education plans
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students
