About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs in both group and 1:1 settings. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Implementing strategies to promote the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
- Collaborating with the SENCo and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Supporting students with personal care, communication, and sensory needs, as required.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Maintaining effective communication with parents and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs.
- Ability to provide effective support in both group and 1:1 settings.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEN would be advantageous.
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo the process.
