SEN Teaching Assistant WANTED! Full-time contract only.
Location: Welwyn Garden City
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dedicated 1-2-1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Welwyn Garden City. In this role, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a student with Special Educational Needs, facilitating their access to the curriculum and promoting their progress. Additionally, there may be instances where you will assist in supporting other students within the class.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized 1-2-1 support to a student with Special Educational Needs
- Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student's individual requirements are adequately addressed
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate the student's engagement with the curriculum
- Regularly assess the student's progress and provide constructive feedback to both the class teacher and SENCO
- Support the student in addressing their emotional and social needs, fostering a secure and nurturing learning environment
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs, preferably in a 1-2-1 capacity
- Profound knowledge of a diverse range of SEND diagnoses and the associated needs
- Excellent communication skills, enabling the establishment of positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Strong commitment to inclusive education, with the ability to adapt teaching styles to cater to the diverse needs of students
