Job Description: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience or a strong desire to support children with SEN in their educational journey? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with classroom teachers to provide individualised support to students with SEN.
- Assist in implementing and adapting educational materials to meet the specific needs of students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and track the progress of students and report to the SEN Coordinator.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive support.
- Provide emotional and social support to students as needed.
- Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
Requirements:
- A valid and up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check on the update service or a willingness to obtain one.
- Previous experience working with students with SEN is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and SEN professionals.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a school setting.
