SEN Teaching Assistant Needed - ASAP Start

Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity in a welcoming primary school? Dunbar Education is proud to be working with a delightful school in Abbots Langley to find a skilled and dedicated SEN TA to join their team.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Abbots Langley

Start Date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs in both group and 1:1 settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Implementing strategies to promote the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Collaborating with the SENCo and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Supporting students with personal care, communication, and sensory needs, as required.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Monitoring and recording student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
  • Maintaining effective communication with parents and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably in a primary school.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of various special educational needs.
  • Ability to provide effective support in both group and 1:1 settings.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN would be advantageous.
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo the process.
