SEN Teaching Assistant

Our client, a vibrant primary school located near Houghton Regis, is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their inclusive and supportive team. This is a temporary to permanent contract, providing stability and the potential for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a student with special educational needs, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met
  • Implement and adapt educational plans, tailored to the specific needs of the student
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to deliver targeted support and interventions
  • Monitor and record the progress of the student, providing regular feedback to the teaching team and parents/guardians

Requirements:

  • Proven experience supporting young people with special needs, preferably in an educational setting
  • Strong knowledge of different learning difficulties and strategies to address them effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young learners
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs would be advantageous
