Introduction: Dunbar Education is delighted to be partnering with a reputable Primary School in Luton to recruit a dedicated and qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator. We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional with a SENCO qualification to join the team and support the school in providing exceptional education and care for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities: As the SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the school's commitment to inclusive education and providing tailored support to students with special educational needs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying, assessing, and tracking the progress of students with special educational needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create individualised support plans.
  • Overseeing the provision of appropriate resources and interventions for SEN students.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of SEN support and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and SEN regulations.
  • Providing professional development and guidance to staff on best practices in SEN education.

Qualifications and Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a recognised SENCO qualification.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a primary school setting (although other education settings will be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring the well-being of SEN students.
  • A genuine passion for helping students with special educational needs reach their full potential.
