SEND Specialist

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Create and implement tailored education plans to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students and adjust support as necessary.
  • Assist with the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
  • Hold an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • Relevant qualifications in special education or related field (desirable but not essential).
