This role offers a unique opportunity to work alongside the School's Director of SEN (Lead SENDCO), making a significant impact on the lives of students with SEND while also teaching a subject of your expertise.

About the Role:

  • Position: SENDCO
  • Levels: Whole School (11-18)
  • Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
  • Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience) plus TLR 2B (£5,346)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the School's Director of SEN (Lead SENDCO) to manage and enhance the provision for students with SEND.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to support students' individual needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of the SEND team, including teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Teach a subject of your specialism, contributing to the broader curriculum.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEND.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience or a strong interest in working towards a SENDCO qualification.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
