The Role: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will lead the provision for pupils with special educational needs, ensuring that they receive the appropriate support and resources to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers and support staff on SEN best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEN, making adjustments to support plans as needed.
  • Ensure the school's SEN policies and practices are up-to-date and compliant with current legislation.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting pupils with SEN.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience in SEN.
  • National Award for SEN Coordination or willingness to undertake this qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with parents, staff, and external agencies.
