Position: SEN School Staff Member

Job Description: As a staff member at our SEN school, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs. You will work closely with the teaching staff and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. Your responsibilities may include:

  1. Providing one-on-one assistance: Working closely with individual students to support their academic, social, and emotional development, and helping them overcome any barriers to learning.

  2. Classroom support: Assisting teachers in planning and delivering lessons, adapting materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students, and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.

  3. Personal care: Assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and other care needs as required, ensuring the safety and well-being of students at all times.

  4. Collaborative teamwork: Working collaboratively with other staff members, including teachers, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.

  5. Behavior management: Implementing behavior management strategies and techniques to create a supportive and structured environment that promotes positive behavior and learning.

Requirements:

  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet individual needs.
  • Flexibility and resilience to work in a dynamic and sometimes challenging environment.
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in special education, teaching assistance, or related fields is highly desirable.
