Position Overview:

As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with speech and language difficulties to develop their communication skills and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and teaching staff to provide targeted support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students who have speech and language difficulties.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised speech and language therapy plans.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with children with speech and language difficulties is highly desirable.
  • A qualification in speech and language therapy or a related field is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children overcome communication challenges.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
