Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify the speech, language, and communication needs of students.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified needs.
  • Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy sessions to students individually or in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication strategies are implemented across all settings.
  • Provide guidance and training to school staff to support the integration of speech and language strategies into the curriculum.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
  • Attend relevant meetings, including multidisciplinary team meetings and parent conferences.

Requirements:

  • Hold a recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Previous experience working with children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Strong knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Ability to develop and deliver engaging therapy sessions tailored to individual needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt therapy plans based on student progress and changing needs.
  • Passionate about making a positive impact on children's communication skills and overall development.
