Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify the speech, language, and communication needs of students.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified needs.
- Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy sessions to students individually or in groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure effective communication strategies are implemented across all settings.
- Provide guidance and training to school staff to support the integration of speech and language strategies into the curriculum.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.
- Attend relevant meetings, including multidisciplinary team meetings and parent conferences.
Requirements:
- Hold a recognized qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience working with children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Strong knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging therapy sessions tailored to individual needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt therapy plans based on student progress and changing needs.
