Dunbar Education is currently seeking a talented SaLT to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing intervention for children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN). You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop tailored therapy plans and strategies, enabling individuals to reach their full potential
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with SLCN, including both formal and informal evaluations.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, targeting specific areas of need.
- Provide direct therapy to children and young people, either individually or in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistency and continuity of support.
- Monitor progress and adjust therapy plans accordingly, utilizing evidence-based interventions.
- Provide training and support to educational staff, empowering them to implement strategies in the classroom.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of speech and language therapy.
- Experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to develop appropriate therapy plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- A genuine passion for helping children and young people overcome communication barriers.
