Position Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Subject Leader - Physics to join our dynamic team at a thriving school in Milton Keynes, starting in January. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Physics teacher ready to take on a leadership role or a current Subject Leader looking for a fresh challenge. The successful candidate will lead and inspire the Physics department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Physics department, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent teaching practices.
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Physics lessons to a range of student abilities, promoting a love for science.
- Oversee the curriculum development for Physics, ensuring it aligns with school standards and national requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to improve attainment and achievement.
- Support professional development within the Physics team, sharing best practices and providing mentorship.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-disciplined learning environment.
- Collaborate with other department leaders and contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with significant experience in teaching Physics at secondary school level.
- Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to step into a subject leadership role.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Physics education.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of teachers to deliver high-quality instruction.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- A commitment to promoting academic excellence and inspiring students.
