Job Description: As a Music Teacher at this Cheshunt Secondary School, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in the art of music. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and interactive lessons that cater to a diverse range of musical abilities and interests. Whether teaching music theory, instrumental techniques, or leading ensemble performances, you will play a vital role in nurturing students' passion for music and helping them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational objectives.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel encouraged to explore and express themselves through music.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students develop their musical skills and confidence.
  • Organize and oversee extracurricular music activities, such as choir rehearsals, band performances, or music clubs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning opportunities and integrate music into other subject areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessment results.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and positive educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent in music education.
  • Proven experience teaching music at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of relevant curriculum frameworks.
  • Proficiency in playing and teaching a variety of musical instruments, as well as a solid grasp of music theory and notation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively plan and manage resources to support learning objectives.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for staying abreast of current trends and best practices in music education.
