Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic faculty on a temporary basis, from April 15th until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective science lessons to students across various year groups, fostering their curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students to develop a love for science and to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive science lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Teach a range of science subjects, which may include biology, chemistry, physics, or general science, depending on the needs of the school.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated and empowered to explore scientific concepts and phenomena.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with national standards and promotes inquiry-based learning and scientific inquiry skills.
  • Conduct practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance students' understanding of scientific principles and foster their scientific curiosity.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their scientific development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science learning across the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary connections within the school community.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and actively involve them in their child's science education.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Degree in science or a related field, with a strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, physics, or general science.
  • Proven experience teaching science at the secondary school level, with a track record of student achievement and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in science.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
