Job Title: Temporary Secondary School Spanish Teacher (April 15th until End of Academic Year)

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Spanish Teacher to join our dedicated faculty on a temporary basis, from April 15th until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Spanish language lessons to students across various year groups, fostering their linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students to develop a love for Spanish language and culture and to make a positive impact on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive Spanish language lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students, utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies and resources.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel motivated and confident to participate in Spanish language learning activities.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers key language skills such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their language development.
  • Organize and participate in extracurricular activities and cultural events related to Spanish language and culture to enhance students' learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Spanish language learning across the curriculum and promote cross-cultural understanding within the school community.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and actively involve them in their child's language learning journey.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish language.
  • Relevant degree or certification in Spanish language education or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish language at the secondary school level, with a track record of student achievement and engagement.
  • Strong understanding of language teaching methodologies and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
