As a Supply Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of education for pupils in the absence of their regular classroom teacher. This flexible and rewarding position offers the opportunity to work across different schools and year groups, providing valuable support to students and contributing to their learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and providing instruction in accordance with the school's curriculum and policies.
  • Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment conducive to pupil engagement and academic progress.
  • Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of pupils and facilitate effective learning experiences.
  • Providing support and guidance to pupils as needed, including assistance with assignments and addressing individual learning challenges.
  • Collaborating with school staff and administrators to ensure smooth transitions and effective communication during the absence of the regular classroom teacher.
  • Completing administrative tasks such as taking attendance, recording pupil progress, and providing feedback to the regular classroom teacher.

Attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different school settings and year groups.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline and order in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils and colleagues quickly.
  • Confidence in delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and facilitating pupil learning independently.
  • Resilience and the ability to handle unexpected situations or challenges that may arise in the classroom.
