Are you a passionate and dedicated PE teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic school community? Dunbar Education is seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Boys PE to join a thriving 11-18 mixed academy in Northampton. This role offers flexibility with a part-time (0.6FTE) position, or it can be extended to a full-time role for candidates who can teach a second subject, such as KS3 Science.

About the Role:

  • Position: Teacher of Boys PE
  • Levels: Key Stages 3-5
  • Start Date: September 2024 (or as soon as possible)
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (0.6FTE) or Full-Time (with an additional subject)
  • Salary: MPS/UPS (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons to boys across Key Stages 3-5, promoting physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Develop and implement engaging and challenging PE curriculum plans.
  • Inspire and motivate students to participate actively in sports and physical activities.
  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and development.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular sports clubs and teams.
  • For full-time candidates: Teach an additional subject (e.g., KS3 Science), contributing to the broader curriculum.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching PE at secondary level - Applications from both ECTs and more experienced colleagues are both warmly welcomed.
  • Ability to teach a second subject (e.g., KS3 Science) for full-time candidates.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
