We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Design Technology to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a school that is undergoing an exciting transformation, with a brand-new block currently being constructed. This development, along with the existing buildings, will create a vibrant central courtyard at the heart of our school.
As a Teacher of Design Technology, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities that include newly designed workshop rooms, well-equipped general classrooms, a modern school hall/dining room, and dedicated offices for staff members. In addition, our school takes pride in its famous Koi and goldfish, and we will even have a new fish tank installed in one of the communal areas for everyone to enjoy.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about inspiring students in the field of Design Technology. You will have a deep understanding of the subject matter and a proven ability to engage and motivate students across different age groups, from KS3 to KS5. Your expertise will enable you to deliver engaging lessons that promote creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons to students at various levels, following the curriculum guidelines.
- Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and develop practical skills.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel valued, respected, and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Design Technology curriculum.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in the field of Design Technology and incorporate them into teaching practices.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Specialization in Design Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching Design Technology to students at different levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Passion for education and a commitment to promoting students' holistic development.
