Are you a passionate Geography teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in a supportive and high-achieving school? If so, we have the perfect position for you! Dunbar Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography teacher to join this Ofsted Good School starting in September.
As a Geography teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons and fostering a love for Geography among our students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). You will have the opportunity to work in an Ofsted-rated "Good" school that provides a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons to students in KS3 and KS4, in line with the school's curriculum and policies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and encourages students' curiosity and participation.
- Utilize a range of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance students' understanding of geographical concepts, theories, and skills.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on students' progress, both through formative and summative assessments, and maintain accurate records of their achievements.
- Monitor and support the academic and personal development of students, identifying and addressing individual learning needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, including the creation of schemes of work, assessment materials, and resources.
- Participate in parents' evenings, staff meetings, and other school events, fostering positive relationships with parents/guardians, colleagues, and the wider school community.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Geography education, sharing best practices and actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
- Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 levels, ideally within a UK-based school setting.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
- Effective classroom management skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- High standards of professionalism, including punctuality, organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
