Are you a passionate Geography teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students in a supportive and high-achieving school? If so, we have the perfect position for you! Dunbar Education are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography teacher to join this Ofsted Good School starting in September.

As a Geography teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality lessons and fostering a love for Geography among our students in Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). You will have the opportunity to work in an Ofsted-rated "Good" school that provides a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons to students in KS3 and KS4, in line with the school's curriculum and policies.
  2. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and encourages students' curiosity and participation.
  3. Utilize a range of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance students' understanding of geographical concepts, theories, and skills.
  4. Assess and provide constructive feedback on students' progress, both through formative and summative assessments, and maintain accurate records of their achievements.
  5. Monitor and support the academic and personal development of students, identifying and addressing individual learning needs.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, including the creation of schemes of work, assessment materials, and resources.
  7. Participate in parents' evenings, staff meetings, and other school events, fostering positive relationships with parents/guardians, colleagues, and the wider school community.
  8. Stay updated with the latest developments in Geography education, sharing best practices and actively engaging in professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Geography or a related subject.
  2. Proven experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4 levels, ideally within a UK-based school setting.
  3. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  5. Effective classroom management skills, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  6. High standards of professionalism, including punctuality, organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
