Role Overview: As a Teacher of Geography, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and inspiring lessons, fostering a love for Geography and promoting high levels of achievement among students. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the school's dynamic Geography curriculum and make a positive impact on the educational journey of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Geography and Travel & Tourism lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students across different year groups.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, where students are encouraged to actively engage with geographical concepts and develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to enhance student learning and promote academic progress.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure all students reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Geography department to develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that enrich the learning experience for students.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school events as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Geography or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Geography and/or Travel & Tourism at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum requirements and assessment criteria.
  • Passion for Geography education and a commitment to inspiring students to explore the world around them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to the ongoing development of the Geography department.
