Position: Lead Teacher of Mathematics

Dunbar Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Lead Teacher of Mathematics on behalf of a prestigious independent school in South Buckinghamshire. This is a permanent, full-time position available to start in September or as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Mathematics curriculum area, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire a love for Mathematics.
  • Assess, track, and provide feedback on student progress.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Mentor and support other members of the Mathematics department.
  • Participate in departmental and whole school CPD.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and the wider community to support student learning.

Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or equivalent.
  • Degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics at KS3 to KS5.
  • Experience in a leadership role within a Mathematics department is desireable.
  • Passionate about teaching and inspiring young people.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
