Position: As a Teacher of Science, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and informative lessons across the Science curriculum, inspiring students to develop a lifelong interest and appreciation for the subject. You will join a dynamic Science department, collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality education and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum. For the right candidate, there is a potential opportunity to take on the additional responsibility of Second in Science, providing leadership and support to the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of students.
  • Foster a passion for Science by incorporating practical experiments, demonstrations, and real-world applications in your teaching.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, promoting their curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry skills.
  • Assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and personalized guidance to help them reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Science curriculum, sharing resources, best practices, and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress, effectively communicating with students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs or competitions, to further enrich students' scientific experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in a Science-related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Leadership qualities and the potential to take on additional responsibilities as Second in Science.
  • Passion for continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in Science education.
