Overview: Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School located in Bracknell. The successful candidate will provide vital support to teachers and students, contributing to the overall educational experience and fostering a positive learning environment. Applicants must possess a minimum of 6 months of UK education experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons by providing one-to-one support to students or small groups, ensuring all students are included and supported in their learning journey.

  2. Resource Preparation: Prepare and organize educational materials, equipment, and resources required for lessons, ensuring they are readily accessible and conducive to effective teaching and learning.

  3. Student Assistance: Provide additional support to students with special educational needs or those facing academic challenges, implementing strategies to promote their learning and development.

  4. Behavior Management: Assist in maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by implementing behavior management strategies and offering guidance to students on appropriate conduct.

  5. Assessment Support: Assist in the assessment and evaluation of student progress, including marking and providing feedback on assignments, tests, and projects under the guidance of the teacher.

  6. Supervision: Supervise students during break times, lunchtime, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and promoting positive social interactions.

  7. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns that may arise.

  8. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role of a Teaching Assistant, staying updated on educational best practices and policies.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 6 months of prior experience working within the UK education system, preferably in a similar role.
  2. Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, teachers, and parents.
  4. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
