Dunbar Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable Primary School in Northamptonshire for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant. This role is based in their SEND Unit, supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning requirements.
- Support students with their personal care and social development.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes the emotional well-being of students.
- Collaborate effectively with the SEN Coordinator, teachers, and parents to ensure effective support strategies.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications or experience in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Knowledge of different learning needs, such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
