About the Role:
Dunbar Education is delighted to be working with an outstanding SEN school in Kettering, dedicated to supporting students aged 11-18 with cognition and learning difficulties. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Therapy Assistant to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality occupational and physiotherapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist our specialist Occupational Therapist in delivering exceptional occupational and physiotherapy services to students.
- Contribute to the assessment and treatment of students, both individually and in groups.
- Undertake therapeutic work and supervise students in activities related to their treatment.
- Perform general therapy-related duties, including cleaning equipment, collating statistical information, and ordering supplies.
- Undertake clerical and school-based tasks to ensure the smooth running of the therapy department.
- Support school staff with the healthcare needs of students.
- Participate in and contribute to assessment and treatment planning sessions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role or setting is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
