Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and hard-working role model to step into the Year 6 Teacher role in September.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you'll play a crucial role in preparing our students for their SATs and supporting them as they transition to secondary school. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to guide pupils through this important stage of their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover the Year 6 curriculum and prepare pupils for SATs examinations.
  • Provide targeted support to help pupils achieve their full potential in SATs tests, including practice papers and revision sessions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and personal growth.
  • Monitor pupil progress closely and provide regular feedback to pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop effective teaching strategies and resources tailored to the needs of Year 6 students.
  • Prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school by developing their independence, resilience, and self-confidence.

Expectations for SATs:

  • Ensure thorough coverage of the curriculum to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in SATs examinations.
  • Implement effective revision strategies and practice tests to familiarise pupils with the format and content of SATs papers.
  • Provide targeted intervention and support for pupils who may require additional assistance in specific areas.
  • Maintain open communication with parents to keep them informed about their child's progress and provide guidance on how they can support their child's preparation for SATs.


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2, preferably Year 6.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs expectations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate pupils.
  • Organised and efficient, with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
